Youth: We must be proactive about creating opportunities for youth in Ventura County to thrive, whether it’s in the education system or workforce training. To create a sustainable future, we must invest in our youth and support programs that will allow our families and community to thrive.
Working Families & Workforce Development: Support opportunities for local jobs, training, education, and resources that will improve the quality of life of families in the 5th District. Connecting and leveraging available resources across the County with those who can benefit the most.
Preserve Access to Social Services: The most basic responsibility of county government is to be a safety net for social services including behavioral health, public health, and child support. The 5th District includes the highest number of Medi-Cal enrolled patients in the County and it is important that we ensure these services remain easily and physically accessible for the most vulnerable communities, including South Oxnard and Port Hueneme.
Housing and Homelessness: Continue to advocate for high-quality, affordable housing for residents. Support county, city, and non-profit collaboration on services and housing for homeless individuals.
